He also created the famed statur of the goddess Athena for the Parthenon inAthens.Zeus' seated figure was 12 meters (50 feet) high. The head nearly scraped the ceiling of the Temple of Zeus. Herodotus, from 450 BC, wrote about Babylon and the awe that it put into the people
that had the good luck to see it; this is a quote by him: "In addition to its size, Babylon surpasses in splendor
any city in the known world," he then goes on to describe the walls of the city, he claimed that the walls of
Babylon were wide enough to allow a four-horse chariot to turn with ease, the thing is these days it has been
proven that although the walls were very impressive, they were not quite so wide as Herodotus said they

| (Pyramids of Egypt) Egypt has more than 100 pyramids that are spread all over the country. These pyramid structures are made up of sandstone brick. The pyramids were built for the rulers of Egypt. The first pyramid that was built in Egypt was the Pyramid of Djoser during the third dynasty.
The 3 best Egyptian pyramids are the ‘Pyramids of Giza’. These pyramids were built on the outskirts of Cairo.
The Pyramid of Khufu at Giza is said to be the largest Egyptian pyramid ever made in the history.
This pyramid figure is one of the seven wonders of the worlds. The Pyramid of Kufu is also known as the Great
Pyramid. The Pyramids at Giza are three in number. Three big one’s are called the great
pyramid of Khufu (Cheops) , the pyramid of Khafre (Khafra) and the pyramid of Menkaure. The pyramid of Menkaure
further has 3 smaller pyramids that are subsidiary to this main pyramid and are called

| (The Mausoleum of Halicarnassus) It is located in Bodrum, Turkey. The mausoleum was made in 350 B.C. The structure was very plan.
The height of the mausoleum was 45m (140 ft). The structure of the mausoleum isn't really beautiful but the
decorations are what bring the bueaty. It had statues of people, lions, horses,and other animals. The mausoleum
is special because it isn't dedicated to the Greek Gods. The only thing left is the ruins of the foundation and
fragments of statue. On the top of the roof was a statue of a chariot pulled by four horses. The mausoleum is a
tomb for a king. For 16 centuries it stayed in perfect condition until a earthquake damaged the roof and colonnades
. The knights of St John of Malta invaded it and stole the bricks and made a crusader castle.
The castle still stands today. So today in Bodrum, Turkey the only things left are the foundation and

| (The Temple of Artemis of Ephesus) It is verry ancient santuary for a mother goddess who protected
pregnant women, it may have antendated the arrival the Greeks in Asia Minor. It was built
ina marshy area to protect it against earthquakes. It burned downin 356 BCE, it was concidered with the birth of Alexander
